What it does
AI Deny lets a WordPress site owner tell AI crawlers to stay out, one crawler at a time, from a settings page. It covers more than 30 AI training and AI search crawlers, including those from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Apple, Perplexity, Meta, ByteDance, and Common Crawl.
How it works
- A switch for each crawler, with a plain-English description of who runs it and what it’s for. Changes save as you make them.
- No files to edit. The rules are added to the site’s robots.txt through WordPress itself. If the site already has a robots.txt file on the server, the plugin won’t activate, because WordPress couldn’t serve its rules.
- Meta tags too. It adds “noai” and “noimageai” meta tags to every page.
- Nothing blocked by default. You decide which crawlers to turn away.
- Quiet and tidy. It makes no outside requests and removes its settings when it’s uninstalled.
The honest part
A robots.txt rule is a request, not a lock. Well-behaved crawlers follow it, and the plugin says so plainly rather than promising more than it can deliver.
